Election '07

Australian Labor Party webcomic #5 - www.alpfunnies.com.au
Kevin Rudd:
Many voters aren't happy with the Coalition Government...and who could blame them for hating those old creeps!

That's the difference that I'm bringing to Australian politics.

Sure Labor's policies are almost identical to the Liberals...

But at least our candidates are nice!

Liberal Party of Australia webcomic #7 - www.conservativechuckles.com.au
John Howard:

We at the Liberal Party don't think gays should be able to marry in Australia.

We reckon that marriage should be the union of a man and woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life.

You could say it's the only union we do support!

Australian Labor Party webcomic #23 - www.alpfunnies.com.au
Kevin Rudd:

At a greenie conference:

Labor will invest in new technology to stop global warming!

(HOORAY!)

at a business conference:

Labor will invest in CLEAN COAL technology to stop global warming ...which means business as usual, boys!

(HOORAY!)

The Australian Labor Party: a mix of people united only by hating the Liberals!

Liberal Party of Australia webcomic #25 - www.conservativechuckles.com.au
John Howard:

My opponent, Mr Rudd claims that collective bargaining is the optimal way in which working conditions should be determined in Australia.

He fails to realise that the labour market will achieve an economic equilibrium by letting the mechanisms of supply and demand determine the price of wages without the centralised interference of government bodies.

... (considers how else to phrase this)

Vote Liberal! (makes peace signs)

I could handle the MySpace accounts and YouTube videos...

...but these election webcomics are a step too far!

I'm very disappointed that the current election is being fought between two men trying to prove that they are more conservative than the other.
Is progressive thinking an unelectable notion in 21st century Australia?
